Another week of last minute team changes saw Richard Midgely called up once again and Tom "Injury-Prone" Webster added to the team sheet. Kesteven received the kick off and started well but in the time it took to settle in the unfamiliar surroundings, Loughborough found their way through the K’s defensive line for an easily converted try under the posts after just 5 minutes to minutes.
A penalty awarded to Kesteven allowed Martyn Parker to secure 3 points after 20 minutes and straight from the kick-off, the ball found Martin Carew who was able to draw several players in to a tackle before releasing Kieran Taylor to gallop the length of the pitch for the first of his 2 unconverted tries. 7-8 to Kesteven.
Not to be outdone by their visitors, Loughborough pulled ahead with another converted try 5 minutes later.
Another penalty to Kesteven was struck home by Martyn Parker before centre James Goodrich made a break and released the ball to Kieran Taylor for his 2nd unconverted try. The half time score was 14-16 in Kesteven’s favour.
The 2nd half saw a lethargic Kesteven side struggling to find structure after the change of direction and Loughborough capitalised on this running in 5 tries. Final score: 46-16 to Loughborough.
Kieran Taylor received Kesteven Management’s Man of the Match and Loughborough voted Kesteven’s lock, Martin Carew, their overall Man of the Match.
Kesteven now have a very slim chance of avoiding relegation and will need to go through some rigorous preparation if they are to have any influence over this prior to the double header league and cup match against Melbourne on the 5th April at Woodnook
