Kesteven welcomed Boston to the Woodnook on the back of some good performances over the last couple of weeks

Saturday 15th of November 2014

Kesteven welcomed Boston to the Woodnook on the back of some good performances over the last couple of weeks. With the weather determined not to change from its misty and damp start the game was always going to find it hard to get out of second gear.

The away team were to the fore from the off pressing with good runs from the base from the 8 together with a strong pack in support. The home team seemed to be struck with a mixture of poor decision making and poor execution. Despite a few lively moments for Kesteven it was Boston that went into half time 7-0 up through a strong run from their 12.

The second half continued in much the same vein with Kesteven’s positives being few and far between. Every time it seemed the home side could get a foothold in the game an error was made, a kick out on the full or a referee decision would go against us. Boston continued to press hard and finished the game 17-0 up after a further try from their prop and a penalty under the posts.

Man of the match for Kesteven was the fly half Olly Wood, who tackled all day and never gave up. Kesteven will have to be a lot better to improve for next week’s away trip to Chesterfield.

The Kesteven team would like to thank the supporters that turned out in the wet weather and showed their usual unwavering positivity.

Kesteven: Odams, Sheardown, Purvis, Pert, Cowley, Webster, Lines, Sayle, Dingley, Wood, Ede, Goodrich, Taylor, Jordan, Whittaker. Bench: Woolerton, Templeton, Osbourne.
