Let's get Woodnook rocking this weekend!

After a succession of increasingly powerful and exciting performances, England men’s rugby team have earned their place in the final of 2019 Rugby World Cup.

To celebrate, Kesteven Rugby will be opening its doors for everyone from 8am this Saturday for Live screening of what is sure to be a thrilling encounter between England and South Africa’s Springboks.

Encouraging everyone wanting to enjoy the game and its atmosphere in a friendly, family-oriented Clubhouse on Saturday from 8am, Bill Berridge, Secretary of Kesteven Rugby, whose main sponsor is local wealth managers, Price Whiting Hodgson, said:

“We have a great record of marking the Rugby World Cup here at Kesteven Rugby. It was a fantastic time in 2003, when England of course won the Rugby World Cup.

“There’s even a great photo in the 'Grantham Journal' from that time of a young, face-painted Ed Bloodworth, who now plays for Yorkshire Carnegie after playing in Kesteven’s junior section!”

While England hasn’t been so successful in the Rugby World Cup in intervening years, the conclusion of 2019’s Rugby World Cup has already changed that.

Kesteven Rugby’s Director of Rugby – former Samoan international, Leicester Tigers, Halifax and St Helen’s back – Fereti (Freddie) Tuilagi, whose younger sibling, Manu Tuilagi, has been instrumental to England’s progression to the final round, says:

“England have been outstanding this Rugby World Cup. All of us – members, players and coaches from the senior, junior, mini and Touch squads – at Kesteven Rugby wishes England the very best of luck for their match against South Africa this Saturday.

“Fortress Woodnook is going to be rocking! Let’s bring England’s Rising Sons home together!”

The whole Kesteven Rugby Family is so much looking forward to getting fully behind the whole England Squad and Manu Tuilagi. Over the summer, around 20 or so Kesteven Rugby members and players of all ages and representing every aspect of our Club were invited to Pennyhill Park to watch the England squad's pre-RWC preparations and meet the team.

After Saturday's Rugby World Cup Final, which kicks off at 9am, the Clubhouse will remain open to serve lunch.
