The under 8s team thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the Stamford festival. Entering as a single team the intrepid 9 played 4 matches against Sleaford, Bourne, West Norfolk and Stamford. Great lines were run, line breaks were supported, and some excellent individual and team tries were scored. The games were underpinned by a great defensive effort; several times the opposing team found themselves being ‘tagged out’. The work on forming a defensive line has paid off (mainly); if only the work on spreading out for attacking restarts had achieved the same result. The festival photographers caught some great action shots and some of the team who are clearly destined to be backs talked their parents into buying a picture for them to admire themselves. Finally, the hot dog connoisseurs in the team rated the free food as number 3 in the chart this season; Kesteven’s sausages remain top of the pops. Keep up the good work next season Ben!
