Ks/LF v Melbourne – 40 – 25 Ks win

A depleted Kesteven team made the journey to Leicester Forest on a welcomed sunny and dry afternoon. Kesteven were joined by players from L/Forest to play 12v12 against Melbourne for the first of their afternoon’s matches. The Kesteven girls were eager to build on their performance of last week and their partnership in this game proved a dominant force in the first half, which ended with a 30 point advantage. This was the result of how well each player passed and controlled the movement of the ball in all areas of the field, making effective and well timed tackles with superior rucking. After the break Melbourne came out fighting and were quick to open their account through some clever play which blindsided their opposition. This spurred Ks on to drive forward for their last two of the game before seemingly becoming a little complacent in the battle for ground allowing Melbourne space for creatively clawing back the score line. Our Grantham girls ended this match in frustration along with plenty of aspects they needed to tighten up before kicking off again.
