Well drilled Newark side too strong

Kesteven U18s travelled to Magnus School in Newark at late notice following the continued disruption of the weather for the use of the ks pitches.
Ks were joined by Lincoln to play a 10s match against Newark. The game started at pace with both sides ripping into each other with some big hits from both sids. Newark were over the try line first with some good hands out wide that beat the cover defence as Ks were short of numbers. Newarks second try resulted from a quick tap at a penalty and again finding additional numbers.
Ks stepped up their game with the forwards coming into the match and winning good ball for Hermione and Millie. In was is a trade mark try Ks got on the board with Millie attacking the line drawing the defence and putting Lydia in the gap to race away and score.
Ks were soon level with a try from Millie. Swift hands from Jess to Lydia who in the tackle off loaded the ball to Millie who was able to make the corner just before the cover defence game along. With 5 mins of the half remaining Ks lost Lydia to injury. Newark used this disruption in the back line and ran in 2 quick tries to finish the half 20-10 up.
In the second half Ks battled hard with ball in hand but could not find the break through needed. the weather began to deteriorate and handling errors crept in providing Newark with good field position. This resulted in a couple of more tries for the home side. In defence ks were strong Jess as the last line continually cutting down the opposition, Lilliemae was as ever disruptive at the break down with Millie marshalling the back line well.
Newark late in the game ran in 2 more
