A long road trip to Market Rasen was greeted with thankfully dry conditions and a remarkably good playing surface. K’s fielded 2 teams against one team from Market Rasen.

Playing uphill in the first half, Ollie Martin scored the opening two tries for a strong K's team, the second after a strong jinking run by Mason, 0-2. Oscar then added a third before an excellent offload in the tackle from Ollie Heywood set up Mason to score the fourth. Oscar then added a fifth to take the score to 0-5 to K’s at half time.

After the break, K’s played downhill with Ollie Martin adding two further tries, sandwiching a further try from Oscar. Final score Market Rasen 0 vs. 8 Kesteven. Well played!

With K’s playing downhill in the first half, Market Rasen kicked off what became a very attritional game with strong rucking from Market Rasen and dogged defence from both teams in tricky conditions. A determined run from Henry brought the opening try before Market Rasen replied with a brace taking the score to 2-1 in favour of the home team. Wyatt bagged a try before the break leaving the game evenly poised at 2-2.

In the second half, K’s played uphill and conceded a third try to Market Rasen before Wyatt collected the final try of the game which ended in a 3-3 draw.

In his post-match press conference, Head Coach Garry said "Top job this morning everyone, MR are a good team and are used to bossing the contact area, they certainly met their match today.

Not our ideal conditions but it was a good all round team performance today, everybody got involved, we can’t ask for more than that. Some excellent examples of sportsmanship too from several players, honestly and humility is key! Also, some very good individual performances, players who are obviously improving and adapting their game-keep it up and remember to visualise what you want to do!
